Day 16 of Qesser's Hunger Strike
A Statement and Call to Action from Qesser on Day 16 of her Hunger Strike
Starvation and the freezing cold are a dangerous combination.
On Day 16 of my hunger strike, my starving body couldn’t handle the cold and I shivered until some fellow prisoners noticed my state and helped me to my cell, got me a hot water bottle and tucked me into the bed.
How lucky am I!
Because today, on day 773 of the ongoing genocide in Gaza, the Zionist entity is still blocking blankets, shelter materials, tents and food from reaching our starving and freezing Palestinian People!
How lucky am I that I got to feel warmth after shivering when 80 year old Om’ar Assad shivered until he died!
This is the next phase of the genocide!
Please do not look away, free people of this world, it is far from over!
How cruel is our world when I become grateful that I have the four walls of a cell to protect my starving body from this harsh winter and I cry for those that don’t! How cruel is the irony, ya raab, I cry!
I remember in May in London in our uni encampment, how the rain collected in our tents and made sleep impossible... and now in November in Palestine, Gaza floods and our beloved Palestinian People starve and freeze to death!
Free people of this world, Gaza must survive this winter!
If we ask they will not listen - we have to demand - make the nation restless for the aid to get in.
Fight for the aid to get in!
Resist for the aid to get in!
Shut down the factories and the highways demanding the aid to be let in!
This matter is urgent upon us, because starvation and the freezing cold are a fatal combination…
Ma nas mahsik ya Gaza…
We won’t forget you Oh Gaza…
